Galvin Bistrot de Luxe

I’ve been coming to this place on more occasions than I care to remember. This place is all about consistency from the onset when you call to make a reservation to when you sit down to enjoy your meal. This is one of the very few places in London where the 12.5% service charge is wholly justified and ultimately deserved.

Came to lunch today with Bron. She picked two courses from the entrées and I opted for the unbelievably good value Menu Prix Fixe.

Bron’s Maldon oysters.

My Velouté of wild mushrooms- this was incredibly well flavoured and not too creamy.

Bron’s Steak Tartare- good as it was, but perhaps a little too cold in temperature and not as balanced as the one as we had at QuoVadis.

Braised ham hock and choucroute- absolutely fantastic. (Bron thought the sauerkraut was way too acquired for her tastes)

Crêpe Suzette- shared pudding that was not overly sweet and beautifully orangey and refreshing.
